Who is the Sustainable Business Development (ESG) course for?

Managers and staff of sustainability, procurement, production, HR and finance departments — anyone involved in implementing ESG principles or preparing ESG reports.

What does the program cover?

There are two programs to choose from: an 8-academic-hour introductory course (the basics of environmental, social and governance responsibility, ESG reporting in Russia) and a 16-academic-hour advanced course (carbon footprint, social initiatives, corporate governance, reporting under international standards).

Are there practical sessions?

Yes. Theory is reinforced through practical assignments and analysis of real work situations, so participants can apply their knowledge right away.

How long is the training and what is the format?

The introductory course is 8 academic hours, the advanced course is 16 academic hours. Group classes follow the schedule; corporate training is held on agreed dates.

What document is issued after the training?

On completion, participants receive an HSE IPAA certificate of completion of ESG training. The terms of the final assessment are communicated before classes begin.

Block 1. Environmental responsibility

Block 2. Ethics and stakeholder engagement

  • Protection of labor rights and human rights.
  • Health and safety.
  • Identifying and engaging stakeholders.
  • Ethical standards.

Block 3. Corporate governance and ESG reporting

  • Corporate governance.
  • ESG reporting in Russia.

Advanced course — 16 academic hours

The content is shaped by the results of a preliminary participant survey. One possible version is shown below.

Block 4. Reporting under ESG standards

  1. The standard set of topics for preparing an ESG report.
  2. Regulatory framework, methodology, report preparation.
  3. How to prepare an ESG report that complies with international standards.
  4. ESG implementation in Russian financial institutions: required reporting, carbon footprint calculation, interpretation of IFRS S1 and S2, the link to the risk management system and the changes it requires.
